Inside the EU, no customs formalities
Freight transport to France
France is a three day run for a full load and a week for groupage. The volume concentrates around Paris, Lyon and the northern industrial corridor, but we cover the whole country.
France is further than Germany or Italy but structurally simpler, because most of the distance is motorway and there is no border formality. A full load leaves western Romania and delivers around Paris on the third day, with Lyon and the Rhône corridor reachable slightly sooner.
Groupage to France runs on weekly departures rather than the near daily frequency we have to Germany. That makes the departure schedule the thing to plan around: catching the service costs nothing, missing it by a day can cost most of a week. We publish the cut off for each departure when we quote, so the decision is yours rather than a surprise.

Customs and documentation
France is in the EU, so goods in free circulation need no customs declaration, no duty and no import VAT at the border. The CMR and the invoice are the working documents.
France does apply strict rules on cabotage and on driver posting, and it enforces them. These are the carrier’s responsibility and they are reflected in the rate rather than in anything you need to file. What you should plan for is the delivery appointment: French distribution centres generally work to a booked slot and the tolerance for a late arrival is small.
Frequently asked questions
How often do groupage services run to France?
Weekly on the main routes, with a published cut off day. If your goods are ready before the cut off they travel that week. If they are ready the day after, the next departure is a week later, so it is worth planning the ready date around the schedule rather than the other way round.
Is a full load worth it to France?
Above roughly ten loading metres, usually yes, and it saves three to four days. Below that, groupage is materially cheaper and the extra days rarely matter. We quote both whenever the volume sits in the middle so you can weigh the cost against the time.
Do you deliver to the French islands or overseas territories?
Corsica yes, through the ferry services from the mainland, with an extra two to three days. The overseas territories are a different proposition entirely, involving ocean freight and full customs formalities, and we would quote those as an export rather than as an EU delivery.
